Late January 2015 News

It’s been a funny old month.  The Eurozone seems in perpetual turmoil, the dramatic events in Paris were quite shocking and from the media portrayal, it could seem as though the whole of France was affected.  Yet, while the three girls all observed a minute’s silence at their schools and the distinctive black and white  Je suis Charlie posters are still poignant reminders on every high street, everyday life goes on seemingly unaffected.

Bookings are coming in regularly, we’re building our 2015 team of staff, and planning various ‘soirees’ throughout the season.  The ‘tree cutters’ have spent a fortnight on site, cutting back the conifers along the entrance hedge and several trees on site, including these big poplars in the play park.

John’s been back to see his Mum again and we’ve spent a couple of Saturdays at open days for several schools and colleges in the area, as both Rebecca and Danielle need to make some ‘career’ decisions this time next year.

Indeed, now seems to be a pretty good time to book a trip to the continent this year.  Fuel prices are low, the £ is high against the euro, and we’re hoping that the cold weather that we’re currently experiencing will bode well for a warm and sunny summer!

We plan to open on May 7th this year, opening the bar and restaurant a fortnight later and though until mid-September.  We’d like to create a herb garden on site which will need tending thoughout the season by any green fingered campers who happen to be around.  Let us know if you’re planning to stay with us and you’d be happy to lend a hand!

That’s it for now – next update mid-February!
